The Caxton Arms
Discover Comedy At The Caxton, our longest running venue at Half A Camel Productions where your comedy can shine and connect with a vibrant audience; our intimate venue fosters an engaging atmosphere that enhances every act, making it the perfect choice for your next performance.
The Joker
Our oldest nemesis/venue.
We ran shows here monthly for 6 years, 12 years ago under the name GOT HAM.
They wouldn't allow us to call it 'Batman Comedy at the Joker' as it would bring in the 'wrong clientel' Huh?
So the next month was GOT HAM Returns then GOT HAM vs SUPER HAM, we even added "A Non-Batman Based Comedy Night" After 6 years we decided they'd never realise we were taking the piss, so took our buiness elsewhere (The Caxton Arms)
Although under new management, which we can only describe as lovely and the opposite of our real nemesis, we’re still back and we've got unfished buinesss.
Oh yeah and the rooms sick.

PUCK Rock Comedy
PUCK Rock Comedy at first may come across as an elite anti-establishment venue soley for sober punks...
We have now decided we should state that the branding we have applied (although I’m sure you will agree is absolutely perfect for what is essentially a coffee shop), is satire.
You don’t HAVE to be Punks to perform here. Take us for example, we’re not Punks.
But what is Punk? If Punk Rock includes wannabe poets with a passion for good coffee and making tiny changes to this earth whilst we’re alive...
In that case then, yes. Then would be considered Punks.
Now correct me if i’m wrong, but isn’t making the world a better place through the medium of occasionally bearable poetry what punks all about?
“No” said a Punk.
Presuming Ed
Presuming Ed is a renowned 45-seater comedy venue, beloved by comedians and locals alike. Known for its quirky atmosphere and intimate setting, it's the perfect spot to experience live comedy during the Brighton Fringe 2025.
A Year round Venue
Step into Presuming Ed, Brighton’s iconic 45-seater comedy venue. A favourite among top comedians, this unique spot offers an unforgettable Fringe experience with its cozy charm and standout performances.
It's hard to describe Presuming Ed. It's like no where else on earth, like walking into an overwhelmedADHD mind that's just had the best idea ever but unfortunately forgot what it was as it's just come up with a better one, and the better one is Presuming Ed.
114-115, London Rd, Brighton and Hove, Brighton BN1 4JG
The Maris & Otter
A brand new venue for this year's Brighton Fringe, along Brighton’s busy Western Road. It's the perfect spot for comedy.
Great staff, lovely atmosphere
The Maris and Otter has recently won a Brighton Fringe bursary award, which bascially means the Brighton Fringe prioritse The Maris and Otter and we receive a Marketing package from Brighton Fringe, which helps put the venue and your shows on the map.
Another brand new venue for this years fringe.
A 45 seater equipped with everything you need for a great fringe show, on the busiest road in Brighton, surrounded by lots of other venues, great atmosphere, lovely staff. Exciting times.
Jollies
Formerly the snug, Jollies is part of The 3 Jolly Butchers, right by Brighton Station and right next to the Caxton Arms, Jollies is our much sought after 30 seater, it's intimate (hence it's previous name) a great atmosphere, and perfect for comedy (hence it’s new name).
Formerly The Snug, in its 4th year!! Time flies.... 4 mins walk from Brighton Station, Jollies is in the perfect location for flyering. It also benefits from being a 2 min walk from The Caxton Arms. We put on hundred of comedy shows each year. The perfect space for smaller shows, you have to check it out!
HALF A CAMEL’S INSTAGRAM METHOD
More Exposure. More……
✊BUMS ON SEATS✊
Last year, we doubled audience attendance at each of our venues by uniting them under the Half A Camel name and maximizing both physical and online exposure.
This year, with a refined Instagram strategy and a much stronger physical presence, we’re BIGGER, BETTER, FASTER, FUNNIER.
We’ve never done a Pre-Fringe promo campaign before, we’ve already had shows sold out and a lot of tickets are getting sold, shows normally don’t sell until the run up to the Fringe (15th Feb 2025)
