Jollies

Small Venue, Big Laughs.

59 North Rd, Brighton BN1 1YD

The Comedian’s Favourite

You don’t get it until you’ve performed at Jollies.  Comedians love the intimate atmosphere, and keep coming back. , Jollies has been a go-to for comedians for three years now. This 30-seater, tucked away at The 3 Jolly Butchers, offers that perfect intimate vibe.

The staff make it so personable, you walk in and straight away you feel “i’ve made a good choice” staff are welcoming and just as exited for the comedy to start. The rest of the year the rooms full of postmen, They finish their shift early and drink there until their shift’s over.

I do know the proper terms post person, btw I’m not being sexist, i’ve only seen male men (pause for laughter) Always end on your best joke.

Edit; I tried the male man joke, didn’t work.

Formerly The Snug

For the last three years, the comedy room at the 3 JOLLY Butchers was known as The Snug, was the name fitting? Yes, because it is snug in there. Good? No, it was shit.

The pubs called the 3 Jolly butchers and we didn’t call the comedy room Jollies. An over site? Maybe, BUT THREE YEARS. Idiots.

Just a short walk from Brighton Station, it’s perfectly located right next The Caxton Arms and at the top of the Laines, perfect for flyering.

Little Venue Syndrome

Jollies maybe small, but if the NCP car park opposite is ‘Closed For Maintenance’ you just know it’s looked at Jollies the wrong way. It definitely fights dirty, have you ever seen The Dome near Jollies? Exactly.

Only a 4-minute walk from Brighton Station, and just above the Laines. The intimate setting means you get a real comedy experience.
